What's done was done...

What I was doing 20-30 years ago

This is a collection of audio files (my apologies, the recording quality isn’t great, and my skills at correcting it are sorely tested) from cassette tapes (monaural) I recorded during the late 70’s and 80’s.  I played in several bands during that time, at first doing electric bass and vocals, later moving on to the lead guitarist’s role.

Guitar tunes...

Johnny B. Goode– I’m the hyperactive guitarist who’s mostly throwing chord melodies left and right, here. I did some off-the-cuff vocals on some choruses, but it's mostly Rock McGee.

Stop That Train– Bob Marley meets Pat Boone when I try overdubbing and creating a song the inexperienced and hard way.  That’s me on everything (one of very few recordings I have using a guitar synthesizer).

Dark Hollow– just me and my acoustic guitar, butchering an old folk song in my own fashion.

Truck Driving Man– Early on in my guitarist days– guitar and vocals. A little ragged, but this was a random practice.

House of the Rising Sun– Bet you’ve never heard it done this way- as a waltz? (my vocal)!

Since I Met You– with a bluesy intro (I may trim that, it isn't very good)- Mack and Rock McGee and myself all do some singing. Totally spontaneous, I don't believe we ever practiced this tune- just popped up live on occasion. So my days as a fake have been many, I suppose...

Shame on The Moon– from one of our final performances. Not too bad- Rock on vocals again.

Treat Her Like a Lady– from that same night– a bit ragged, but I was doing the high vocals along with the McGee brothers, and find it amusing- ending wasn't bad...

I Want You– I like the contrast between the rhythmic and then the smooth flowing parts– wish I had a live one, but it appears to be gone forever. Mack's lead vocal. Mary and Rock doing backup.

Should I Do It– For a change up, this is stylistically different. Mary Mahar's vocal.

Bass playin’ tunes...

The Horse– this is an instrumental from very early on– I’m the bassist.  Best with a subwoofer!

The Other Woman– an oldie with Mack McGee on vocals

Hard For The Money– the Donna Summer classic, sung by Mary Mahar
